“The Mother Goose Parade has seen us through the best of times and the worst of times,” said City Manager Kathi Henry, “it is a fundamental part of our tradition and always brings that holiday magic with it!” El Cajon Mayor Lewis echoed Ms. Henry’s thoughts, adding, “we are proud to be able to share this event not only with the citizens of El Cajon, but the entire San Diego county and beyond. It is an experience that has touched countless lives, and made extraordinary memories.”
Under the helm of current Parade President, El Cajon Deputy Mayor and Council member, Jillian Hanson-Cox, the event has expanded, and embarked on a five year marketing plan to become a destination event for families of Southern California and beyond. “Our goal,” said Hanson Cox, “is to become the Macy’s Parade of the West Coast, giving children who can not make it across the country an opportunity to experience it here, in their own back yard!”
It is the strength of its positive family message and being the culmination of a year of activities, from on-going education programs to arts programs and environmental enhancement activities, that has attracted star power to endorse it. Celebrities from the worlds of film, television, sports and media are all putting their star power behind making the Mother Goose Parade an unforgettable event for children of all ages!
The Mother Goose Parade truly is an extraordinary gift that is bound to lift spirits and add a little sparkle to this year’s pre-holiday season. Join the festivities and plan your trip today! For more information please log on to http://www.MotherGooseParade.org
