d Centaur Bar in Detroit, MI. The producers have invited all of the celebrities currently working in Detroit and surrounding areas as well as the many who make the city their home.

The purpose for the event is two fold. First, to celebrate and publicize the burgeoning motion picture industry in the State.

Kusmirek, formerly of the multi-platinum, Grammy nominated Gin Blossoms formed his new band this past year. First responses from record pools, DJ’s and radio stations across the nation is outstanding. Vinyl Station’s newest single “Gone” will be directed by Emmy Award winner Jennifer Champagne, founder of Milake Pictures.

The video, which will showcase the best of Detroit, will start with the “Hollywood In Detroit” party at Centaur Bar in Detroit on Thursday, August 12. Guests on the first two floors will be hosted to an extraordinary evening and will be part of the music video itself. Before the band plays, two cameo appearances in the video will be given away to the guests on the first and second floors. Additional prizes include two Beamz Laser Music Mixers, hotel room stays and more. “Gone” is set for distribution via iTunes, online media outlets, event sponsors and event hosts.

Vinyl Station is a roots-rock style band whose sound has been compared to the likes of U2, Wilco and Ryan Adams. Formed in Phoenix, Arizona by Kusmirek, the band includes singer Matthew Thornton, bassist Darell Colton, keyboardist Ted Greenbaum and guitarist Blake Thompson whose collective backgrounds include performing with When in Rome, Hootie and the Blowfish, Disco Pimps and John Popper.

Vinyl Station’s debut album, The Streets, is available on iTunes and will be heavily showcased as they continue their ten-city Midwest tour that kicked off in Chicago on July 28. Fans can also catch them in the upcoming Farrelly Brothers film Hall Pass due out in 2011 with the single “Confess”.
