Inaugural SoHo International Film Festival Opening Night Sells Out
Auspicious start to the new film festival which promises to champion the independent spirit.

New York City, NY – (2/18/2010) – New York City's inaugural 2010 SoHo International Film Festival - Presented by Made In New York and the Office of New York Mayor, Michael Bloomberg, launched with an auspicious start selling out Opening Night film, Fred Carpenters drama “Just Like Joe”.

The film festival kicked off at 2:oopm with a ribbon cutting ceremony leading into Program 1, a high energy panel on the best means of independent motion picture marketing & promotions by award winning producer Michelle Czernin von Chudenitz and award winning director, Rolfe Kanefsky.

Program 2, Spotlight on World Shorts followed which included nine films: "A Lesson Learned" (USA), "Defect" (Australia), "Senorita" (Philippines), "Leka med Dockor" (Sweden), "Postalolio" (Canada), "Patu Ihu" (New Zealand), "Credits" (USA), "Zombies & Cigarettes" (Spain), "The Neighborly' (USA). Attending filmmakers participated in a Q&A session after the screenings.

Short film, "The Lesson Plan" opened the Official Opening Night film, "Just Like Joe" to a sold out audience.
